John Joseph BARKER of Bath (1824-1904): A well known local artist who exhibited both locally and at the Royal Academy. This PAIR of oil paintings on canvas are entitled “Cattle Droving” and portray two scenes with cattle being driven by a farmer. One along a stream, the other a country lane. Worthy of close inspection, very painterly  – superb detail.

Both signed to the lower corner. Both canvases and ornate gilded frames in excellent original condition.
