Henri Jacot: Large CARRIAGE CLOCK Timepiece
A fine quality late 19th century French CARRIAGE CLOCK timepiece, in splendid condition by the famous maker: Henri Jacot. The eight-day single-train movement retains its original silvered lever platform escapement and is signed with the makers trademark on the backplate. Good lacquered brass “Corniche” case and complete with its original numbered (12775) key*. 7.5ins high (handle up).
* The better French carriage clock makers (notably Alfred Drocourt and Henri Jacot) would number their cases, movements and keys. The number 12775 would indicate a date between 1885-1890.
