18th Century Longcase Clock
Edward Cooper, LONDON: a very fine and original 18th century mahogany LONGCASE CLOCK in full working order. The stunning case has a ‘pagoda’ pediment; brass-inlaid columns to the hood and trunk and a long door. The base features a separate ‘flame’ mahogany panel to the front and moulded double plinths. The 8-day movement strikes hours on a bell whilst the good dial features engraved and silvered chapter-rings; ‘Strike/Silent’ control in the arch; subsidiary seconds dial and date aperture. Signed by the maker to the engraved plate. A superb quality 18th century London Longcase Clock.
