A LADY’S WELL-FITTED DRESSING & JEWELLERY BOX

£1850

A particularly fine quality Lady’s JEWELLERY & DRESSING BOX in excellent original condition. The well figured and brass-edged coromandel-wood lid opens to reveal the “sumptuous” display of eleven bottles and jars, all of which are perfect and are fitted with hand-engraved silver lids (London 1869). These are arranged around the central pad fitted with the full set of eight tools and implements, including two fine pairs of scissors; tiny corkscrew (for scent bottles) and penknife etc.  Within the lid is a mirror, whilst within the base is the jewellery drawer which retains its original royal blue plush velvet lining. Lovely condition and a superb box. 12ins wide.
