323/12: A particularly fine quality mid-19th century Nest of FOUR Occasional Tables in very good condition. Each well-figured top has an inset rim of solid ebony, and each is raised on slender turned legs with ebonised rings. These legs are joined by good square-section stretchers leading to bracket feet. A fine nest of tables that work well and glide smoothly! **The inset ebony edge to each table has a dual function: firstly to prevent things falling off, and secondly to allow each table to be drawn forward for use, without scratching the top surface each time. c.1840
248/11: A pretty and thoroughly original Nest of Three Side Tables in fine condition. The larger, upper table is inlaid with a rosewood and satinwood inlaid Chess/Draughts top, with twin "D" shaped lidded compartments either side, for the playing pieces, whilst the lower two interlocking tables are veneered in well-figured rosewood. They are supported on pretty solid rosewood legs united by stretchers and leading to elegant sabre feet. c.1825
