In addition there is the particularly attractive, but perhaps later, folding Chessboard, which is inlaid with boxwood and ebony squares with further chequer inlay around the edge. Measurements: the Kings: 7.6cms (just under 3 inches); the Board: 18ins square. c.1900

229/11: A rare and attractive mid-19th century Chinese green-stained and natural Ivory Chess Set of "Staunton" pattern, complete with its original lacquer gilt-decorated board and storage box. Good condition though the giltwork on the board is a little rubbed. Kings about 3.25ins high. c.1860
