298/12: An early, decorative and fine quality French Carriage Clock in lovely original condition. The Case: ornate cast brass with large square bevelled glass to the top; ornate handle and "Caryatid" figures to each corner. The movement: eight-day duration, striking hours and half hours on a bell, repeating hours at will, with a good white enamel dial; original 'Trefoil' hands; separate alarm train and the original lever platform escapement. Signed to the dial and engraved to the backplate:" Rollin a Paris". c.1850
