The upper twin "ratcheted" sheet music supports are fully adjustable for height, via the gilded brass locking device on the central column, which enable this stand to be used either in the seated position (cello) or standing up (violin or flute for example). This well-turned central mahogany column leads to the triform mahogany base with solid mahogany 'compressed' bun feet. Lovely quality. c.1825
