The 4ft diameter top is supported on the substantial turned central column which leads to quadruple "hipped" sabre legs which in turn lead to the original brass sabot castors. 306/12: GILLOWS of LANCASTER: an excellent quality late Regency/William IV period mahogany Centre or Hall Table by this famous firm of English cabinetmakers. The figured "book-matched" mahogany top is supported, via the tilting mechanism, on a superb turned and fluted solid mahogany pillar which leads to the triform base and melon-carved feet. In typical Gillows style, both the frieze to the top and the base feature pretty beaded decoration all around. 4ft diameter. c.1835
