A charming mid-Victorian fully fitted papier maché SEWING BOX in excellent original condition. The lid, which is inlaid with mother-of-pearl and hand-painted with flowers and leaves etc., opens to reveal the fitted interior complete with its various tools and implements. These include: the full set of six mother-of-pearl cotton reels (all the original white thread still intact!); MOP-handled scissors and matching sewing tools; two thimbles (one sterling silver) and various other items including an engraved MOP winder, some not shown. A pretty Sewing Box. 11.5 x 8 x 4.5ins.
