An unusual and good quality solid mahogany early/mid 19th Century METAMORPHIC occasional table which converts into a three-tier DUMB WAITER.

When contracted it appears to be a good quality but plain circular Occasional Table. However, when the top is lifted it converts into a three-tier Dumb Waiter. By compressing the small catch and pressing the top gently down, it turns back into an occasional table again. Ingenious!

Supported on a finely turned and reeded column, leading to a triform base on bun feet, with original castors.

Sturdy enough to support a lamp, this would be an ideal table next to a sofa or favoured arm chair.
